In October, Spain received 9.2 million international tourists, 3.2% more than in the same month in 2024.
In the first 10 months of 2025, the number of tourists visiting Spain increased by 3.5% and approached 85.7 million. This is the highest figure since the INE's FRONTUR records began.
Annual variation. Percentage
The United Kingdom was the main country of residence, with more than 1.8 million tourists and an increase of 2.8% compared with October 2024. There were 1.3 million arrivals from Germany (3.1% fewer) and 1.2 million from France (0.1% more).

The main sending countries during the first 10 months were the United Kingdom (with over 17.1 million tourists and an increase of 3.9%), France (almost 11.4 million and a decrease of 0.1%) and Germany (with around 10.8 million, 0.8% more).
The number of tourists who chose market accommodation as their main type of accommodation increased by 1.7% in annual terms. Within this type, hotel accommodation grew by 0.5% and rented dwellings by 8.9%. Non-market accommodation increased by 10.8%.
A stay of four to seven nights was the main length among tourists, with more than 4.6 million tourists and an annual increase of 1.6%. The number of visitors increased by 0.3% among those without overnight stays (excursionists) and decreased by 3.9% among tourists with longer duration (more than 15 nights).
Almost 6.7 million tourists travelled without a package tour in October, up by 3.1%. Nearly 2.6 million tourists travelled with a tourist package, 3.4% more.
Cataluña was the top tourist destination in October, with 21.4% of the total. It was followed by Illes Balears (17.0%) and Andalucía (15.4%).
9.9% more tourists visited Cataluña than in October 2024. The number of tourists who visited Illes Balears decreased by 1.7% and those who visited Andalucía rose by 4.2%.
In the accumulated first 10 months of 2025 the Autonomous Communities that received the most tourists were Cataluña (with over 17.8 million and an increase of 1.0% as compared with the same period of 2024), Illes Balears (with over 15.3 million and an increase of 2.5%) and Andalucía (13.0 million, 6.9% more).

The main objective of the Tourist Movement on Borders Survey (FRONTUR) is to estimate the number of non-residents visiting Spain on a monthly basis, as well as to know the main characteristics of the trips made by these visitors. The international definitions and recommendations of the UN Tourism and EUROSTAT in this field are followed when preparing the FRONTUR.
