Configuration of the electoral census of foreign nationals resident in Spain (CRF) for the municipal elections and the European Parliament elections of 26th May 2019

On 26th May 2019, municipal and European Parliament elections will be carried out. In said elections will be able to vote:

 

Citizens of countries of the European Union (EU)

Citizens of the EU, non-Spaniards, resident in Spain will be able to vote in the municipal elections and in the European Parliament elections of 26 May 2019 if they have been previously registered in the electoral census and are of legal age on polling day.

In order to be registered in the electoral census, it is required to be previously registered in the Municipal Register and to have expressed the intention to exercise the right to vote in Spain.

Although the United Kingdom has expressed its intention to leave the European Union on 30 March 2019, according to the agreement of the Central Electoral Commission of 3 October 2018, citizens of the United Kingdom resident in Spain should not be excluded from the formation of the electoral roll for municipal and European Parliament elections, advising those concerned that it is a precautionary measure that will cease to have effect if the separation of the United Kingdom is completed on 30 March 2019.
