University internships at the INE
The INE believes that training in statistics is key in the preparation of future producers and users of statistics. It is therefore to this Institute’s benefit to use any and all tools available to promote knowledge. We would therefore like to give all public and private Universities the opportunity to collaborate through the university student external academic internship system, in the area of curricular internships.
These internships, which are regulated by RD 592/2014 of July 11, BOE July 30, 2014, aim to encourage the hiring of internship students in public administrations and in private companies, promoting employment of future professionals, fostering their capacity for entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and responding to the commitment to economic transformation based on the knowledge society.

Information for Students
-
The conditions for access to internships are as follows:
- First you should check if the University to you belong has an established agreement with the INE; for this, please see the list of current agreements.
- If such an agreement exists, contact your University’s internship office. You should never contact the INE directly.
- Spots will be assigned strictly in the order of requests received. If there is more demand than the supply of placements that can be provided by the INE, attendance will be limited to two students from each university. If, due to special circumstances, certain INE units are unable to provide tutoring, it may even be impossible to carry out an internship.
- Internships are unpaid and will not entail any expense for the INE.
- The internships that will be offered are curricular.
- Internships can be carried out at both the INE’s central services offices (in Madrid) and in each of its Delegations, based in each provincial capital.
