The Business Turnover Index (BTI) is a synthesis operation that obtains a short-term indicator to measure the joint evolution of the turnover of the non-financial economic sectors: Extractive and manufacturing industries, Electrical energy and water, Commerce and non-financial services.
Information from three surveys conducted by the INE is used to obtain this indicator: the Business Turnover in Industry Indices (BTI), the Service Sector Activity Indicators (SSAI) and the Retail Trade Indices (RTI). For the other sectors not investigated by the INE, the information is supplemented with data provided by the Tax Agency.
The results of the BTI with CNAE-2025 will be published for the first time in March 2028.
