Las pernoctaciones en alojamientos turísticos extrahoteleros disminuyen un 96,8% en mayo respecto al mismo mes de 2019.

Desde el día 11 de mayo y de acuerdo a la Orden SND/399/20201, los hoteles y alojamientos turísticos se han podido abrir al público, con ciertas restricciones, a medida que los territorios en los que están ubicados alcanzaban, al menos, la fase 1 del plan para la transición hacia una nueva normalidad. Durante el mes de mayo solo han abierto 19.647 de los casi 178.765 establecimientos de alojamiento extrahotelero (apartamentos turísticos, campings, alojamientos de turismo rural y albergues turísticos) existentes en España, un 88,1% menos que en el mismo mes de 2019. El total de plazas ofertadas es de 150.698, un 9,8% del total..

Debido al escaso número de alojamientos abiertos, se ha reducido la cantidad de información que se difunde hoy. En apartamentos, campings y turismo rural se ofrecen datos a nivel nacional y por comunidad autónoma. Para albergues, únicamente a nivel nacional.

The Holiday Dwellings Occupancy Survey provides information on the supply and demand for this type of accommodation, registered as such in the corresponding Tourism Departments of each Autonomous Community. From the point view of demand, information is offered on travellers, overnight and average stays, distributed by country of residence of travellers and category of the establishments that are occupied or by Autonomous Community of origin in the case of Spanish travellers; from the supply point of view information on the estimated number of establishments open, estimated vacancies, occupancy rate, as well as information on employment in the sector is provided. This information is provided monthly, at the following levels: national, Autonomous Community, provincial, tourist area and tourist spot.

The Holiday Dwelling Price Index is a statistical measure of the monthly evolution of the prices that holiday dwelling establishments charge their clients. It provides information at the national level broken down by type of rates and by dwelling type.
