Works that will be carried out in the year 2011
The quarterly calculation of the estimates of the current population resident in Spain, its Autonomous Communities and provinces will be carried out, for different dates of the reference quarter (populations at 1st of each month, populations in family dwellings halfway through each month for its reference in the INE surveys), broken down by sex, age and generation (and for the purposes calibration work for surveys by nationality, total number of Spaniards and total number of foreign nationals)
To this end, an ongoing monitoring of short-term demographics will be carried out, using the latest available information, and in addition, the methodological and technical innovations enabling the improvement of the estimation mechanism will be studied and applied
Special attention will be paid to improving the estimation of international emigration from Spain, as well as to the subset of returns to countries of origin, as well as to filtering those foreign immigrations registered that cannot be associated with the standardised international concepts of international migrations
The results, broken down by sex, age, generation and province, will be disseminated externally in January, April, July and October, with the various reference dates and classifications involved
Internal and external requests for information regarding the results of the Population Now Cast will be met.
