Data by Autonomous Communities and Cities

In 2025, the regions with the highest proportion of sales of manufacturing industry products were Cataluña (22.4% of the total), Andalucía (11.3%) and Comunitat Valenciana (10.8%).

Sales by autonomous cities and communities. Year 2025

With regard to the industrial specialisation of the Autonomous Communities, the following table shows the two most relevant in each division, together with their respective weights:

Autonomous Communities with the greatest influence in each division. Year 2025

Other communities with a high industrial presence in certain divisions were La Rioja (10.6% in Leather and footwear industry), Región de Murcia (14.7% in Manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products), Andalucía (12.8% in Chemical industry), País Vasco (21.5% in Machinery and Equipment) and Castilla y León (11.3% in Motor vehicles). In the new table of results for autonomous communities, this analysis can be extended from that level of division (2 CNAE digits) to the class level (4 digits).

Data revisions and updates

p>The data published today are final. All results are available on INEBase.

Informative annex. Changes to the publication

The design and format of the table that displays the sales and the amount of internal production per product in accordance with the prodcom coding has been changed to 10 digits at the national level. It is now displayed in a standard INEbase format.

New tables have been designed to present a breakdown of national production sales, with a level of detail featuring a 6-digit CPA and a 4-digit CNAE (Groups).

The table that provides information on autonomous communities and autonomous cities has been redesigned. It is now presented with a greater degree of detail, with up to 4 digits (Group level). The maximum level previously reached was that of the division (2 digits).

Methodological note

The Annual Industrial Products Survey is an annual structural survey aimed at all establishments dedicated to the industrial sector (Sections B and C of the CNAE 2009). This operation provides information on the production of a set of industrial products (approximately 4,000) that account for the entire Spanish industrial sector.

The products are classified in accordance with the European PRODCOM product classification in the 2025 edition. This classification is compatible with the new CNAE, the CNAE 2025. Therefore, this year there has been a change from the CNAE 2009 to the CNAE 2025.

To facilitate the change between the two classifications, the data are presented in the PRODCOM 2025 and in the previous one, the PRODCOM 2024, which is compatible with the CNAE 2009.

The survey targets a sample of 39,241 industrial establishments. It allows us to obtain detailed national results for the different products that make up the survey, as well as aggregated results by autonomous communities and cities and divisions of activity.

Type of Survey:
Continuous annual survey.
Population scope:
Industrial establishments, regardless of whether the main activity of the legal unit to which they belong is industrial or not.
Geographical scope:
The entire national territory.
Reference period for the results:
The calendar year.
Reference period of the information:
The calendar year. Establishments that operate by season or campaign -which include two different years- can use data referring to the campaign ending in the survey reference year.
Type of sampling:
Probability sampling.
Sample size:
39,241 industrial establishments, belonging to 33,000 companies with main activity in industry (the majority) or in another sector.
Collection method:
Via the Internet (IRIA system) and, very exceptionally, by other means (e-mail, post, etc.).
