Main results
- In March, 219,493 properties were registered in the property registers, 2.7% more than in the same month the previous year.
- Registered housing sales and purchases decreased by 2.2% compared to March 2025.
The number of property transfers recorded in the property registers (from previously executed public deeds) in March was 219,493, which was 2.7% more than in the same month in 2025.
As regards registered property sales, the number of transfers stood at 122,896, with an annual increase of 1.5%.

86.7% of registered sales in March were urban properties and 13.3% were rural properties. Among urban properties, 57.5% were home sales and purchases.
In March, the number of sales of rural properties increased by 4.3% in terms of the annual rate and that of urban properties rose by 1.1%. Within the latter, housing sales and purchases recorded an annual decrease of 2.2%.
93.8% of the housing transferred by sale in March were open market and 6.2% were protected.
In annual terms, the number of transfers of free dwellings by sales and purchasing decreased by 1.6% in March in the annual rate, while that of protected dwellings decreased by 10.4%.
21.3% of the housing transferred by sale in March were new and 78.7% were used.
The number of new home transactions fell by 10.2% compared to March 2025, while the number of used homes rose by 0.2%.
Principado de Asturias (10.9%), Aragón (10.2%) and Comunitat Valenciana (7.2%) recorded in March the highest annual rates of change in the total number of properties transferred.
In turn, Comunidad Foral de Navarra (-4.7%), Extremadura (-4.0%) and Cantabria (-3.2%) recorded the lowest annual rates.
Regarding the registered housing sales and purchases, the Autonomous Communities with the highest increases were Castilla-La Mancha (11.5%), Comunidad Foral de Navarra (8.2%) and La Rioja (5.2%).
In turn, Cantabria (-15.4%), País Vasco (-11.6%) and Canarias (-8.9%) registered the largest decreases.
