September 2025. Provisional data

Main results

  • In September, 198,828 properties were registered in the property registers, 2.0% more than in the same month the previous year.
  • The number of registered property sales and purchases increased by 3.8% compared with September 2024.

The number of property transfers recorded in the property registers (from previously executed public deeds) in September was 198,828, which was 2.0% more than in the same month in 2024.

As regards registered property sales, the number of transfers was 118,265, an annual increase of 4.5%.

Sales recorded in land registers

89.2% of registered sales in September were urban properties and 10.8% were rural properties. In the case of urban properties, 60.4% were house purchases and sales.

In September, the number of sales of rural properties increased by 2.1% in terms of the annual rate and that of urban properties by 4.8%. Within the latter, housing sales recorded an annual rise of 3.8%.

Registered housing sales

93.1% of the homes transferred by sale in September were unrestricted and 6.9% were social housing.

In annual terms, the number of transfers of free dwellings by sales and purchasing increased by 4.7%, and that of protected dwellings decreased by 6.9%.

21.7% of the homes transferred by sale and purchase in September were new and 78.3% were used.

The number of new home transactions increased by 10.8% compared with September 2024 and the number of used ones by 2.0%.

Results by Autonomous Community

Comunidad Foral de Navarra (16.0%), Andalucía (8.9%) and Región de Murcia (6.8%) recorded the highest annual rates of change in the total number of properties transferred in September.

In turn, Aragón (-18.1%), Castilla y León (-4.8%) and Illes Balears (-4.5%) presented the highest decreases.

Regarding the registered housing sales and purchases, the Autonomous Communities with the highest increases were Castilla-La Mancha (19.0%), Comunidad Foral de Navarra (12.4%) and Andalucía (10.2%).

In turn, Illes Balears (-9.6%), Principado de Asturias (-4.1%) and La Rioja (-3.2%) recorded the largest decreases.

Methodological note

The Statistics on Transfer of Property Rights provide information on the number of rights on transfers of property during the reference month, on a national level, by province and Autonomous Community.

All information on transfers of property is taken from the information contained in the Land Registers for the whole country, by virtue of a partnership agreement signed in 2004 by both institutions.
