- In October, 221,889 properties were entered in the property registers, 4.3% less than in the same month of the previous year.

The number of property transfers recorded in the property registers (from previously executed public deeds) in the month of October was 221,889, which was 4.3% fewer than in the same month in 2024.
As regards registered property sales, the number of transfers amounted to 128,633, an annual decrease of 1.7%.

88.4% of registered sales in October were urban properties and 11.6% were rural properties. In the case of urban properties, 59.6% were house purchases and sales.
In October, the number of sales of rural properties decreased by 7.2% in terms of the annual rate and that of urban properties rose by 1.0%. Within the latter, housing sales and purchases recorded an annual decrease of 2.5%.
93.4% of the homes transferred by sale in October were unrestricted and 6.6% were social housing.
In annual terms, the number of homes on the open market sold by purchase decreased by 1.4% and the amount of subsidised housing decreased by 15.6%.
21.3% of the homes transferred by sale and purchase in October were new and 78.7% were used.
The number of new home transactions fell by 12.0% compared to October 2024, while the number of used homes rose by 0.5%.
Cantabria (6.5%%), Catalonia (4.1%) and Galicia (1.7%) recorded the highest annual rates of change in the total number of properties transferred in October.
Conversely, Comunidad de Madrid (-17.9%), Aragón (-14.7%) and Castilla - La Mancha (-11.6%) had the greatest decreases.
Regarding the registered housing sales, the autonomous communities in which rates increased were Cantabria (8.9%), Andalusia (4.1%) and Extremadura (3.1%).
In contrast, Comunidad de Madrid (-11.7%), Canarias (-11.0%) and Illes Balears (-11.0%) had the largest decreases.
