In March, Spain received nearly 6.6 million international tourists, some 3.8% more than in the same month in 2024.
In the first three months of 2025, the number of tourists visiting Spain increased by 5.7% and approached 17.1 million.

The United Kingdom was the main country of residence, with more than 1.2 million tourists in March, an increase of 3.6% compared to the same month in 2024. 896,441 tourists came from Germany (1.4% less) and 763,153 from France (3.5% less).

The main incoming tourist countries during the first three months were the United Kingdom (with over 3.1 million tourists and an increase of 4.6%), France (with over 2.1 million and an increase of 7.1%) and Germany (with more than 2.1 million, 0.1% less).
The number of tourists who chose market accommodation as their main type of accommodation in March remained the same as last year's rates. Within this type, hotel accommodation fell by 3.5%, while rented dwellings rose by 15.4%. On the other hand, non-market accommodation increased by 20.5%.
Tourists mostly stayed four to seven nights, amounting to nearly 3.3 million and an annual increase of 3.2%. The number of visitors increased by 8.0% among those without overnight stays (excursionists) and decreased by 1.6% among tourists with longer duration (more than 15 nights).
More than 5.1 million tourists travelled without a tourist package in March, an increase of 7.7%. Nearly 1.5 million tourists travelled with a tourist package, 7.8% less.
The Canary Islands were the top tourist destination in March, with 23.6% of the total. It was followed by Cataluña (20.8%) and Andalucía (16.0%).
0.9% more tourists visited Canarias than in March 2024. The number of tourists who visited Cataluña increased by 1.0% and those who visited Andalucía rose by 10.2%.
In the cumulative figure for the first three months of 2025, the Autonomous Communities that received the most tourists were Canarias (4.4 million: an increase of 2.1% as compared with the same period in 2024), Cataluña (3.6 million: an increase of 6.4%) and Andalucía (2.5 million: 7.4% more).

The main objective of the Tourist Movement on Borders Survey (FRONTUR) is to estimate the number of non-residents visiting Spain on a monthly basis, as well as to know the main characteristics of the trips made by these visitors.
