The Industrial Turnover Index (ITI), once adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, showed in April a variation of 1.3% as compared with the same month of the previous year.
The ITI original series registered an annual variation of 14.2%.

By market, all markets showed positive annual rates in April. It is worth noting the increase registered in the non euro area in the foreign market (15.0%).

The monthly variation of the seasonally and calendar adjusted Total Industrial Turnover Index between the months of April and March, stood at 0.5%. This rate was a point higher than the previous month.

By Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs), Non-durable consumer goods (3.3%), Capital goods (2.2%) and Durable consumer goods (1.2%) showed positive monthly rates. On the other handEnergy (-0.6%) and Intermediate goods (-0.3%) showed negative monthly rates.
Turnover increased as compared to April 2023 in all the autonomous communities.
The largest increases were recorded in Illes Balears (28.6%), Comunidad de Madrid (24.0%) and Andalucía (22.8%). The smallest in Cantabria (2.7%). Principado de Asturias (6.1%) y Galicia (8.2%).

On the press release day, INE has updated ITI data series corresponding to the last 13 months. In the case of calendar adjusted and seasonally and calendar adjusted series, according to INE standard, series are revised since its beginning. Results are available at INEbase.
Industrial Turnover Indices (ITI) are short-term indicators aiming at measuring the monthly evolution of the industrial sector, excluding the construction.
The required information is collected since January 2002 through a survey addressed to more than 12.000 industrial establishments throughout the country.
