- The number of mercantile companies increased by 7.5% in November compared to the same month in 2023.

In November, 9,970 mercantile companies were incorporated, 7.5% more than in the same month in 2023. The subscribed capital for incorporation recorded an annual decrease of 12.9% and the average subscribed capital (49,940 euros) fell by 19.0%.
In addition, 2,423 companies increased their capital, 5.9% more than in November 2023. Capital subscribed in capital increases fell by 19.8%.
The number of dissolved companies grew by 3.7% year-on-year. 83.4% of them did so voluntarily.
17.6% of the mercantile companies created in November corresponded to Real Estate, Finance and Insurance and 17.1% to Trade. As for dissolved companies, 19.9% were engaged in Trade and 15.0% in Construction.

The economic activity with the largest subscribed capital of mercantile companies incorporated was Real estate, financial and insurance, with 344.05 million euros. In turn, Information and communications companies had the lowest capital, with 3.33 million.
Thousands of euros
Cantabria (41.8%), Principado de Asturias (38.2%) and Castilla y León (27.3%) recorded the highest annual growth in the number of mercantile companies incorporated in November.
Meanwhile, La Rioja (-35.4%), Galicia (-6.8%) and País Vasco (-5.9%) recorded the largest decreases.

The Mercantile Companies Statistics were created by Order of 30 April 1938. Their objective is to measure the demographics of companies, providing monthly information, at provincial and Autonomous Community level, on the companies incorporated, dissolved and those in which there have been changes in capital.
The source of information is the Central Mercantile Registry, which collects all provincial information on the registration of companies and entrepreneurs, as well as mercantile acts determined by law.
