Experimental Statistic. Multidimensional Quality of Life Indicator (MQLI)

The Multidimensional Quality of Life Indicator (MQLI) is a composite indicator that makes it possible to measure quality of life from a multidimensional perspective. It is presented on an experimental basis, where the aim is to subject its methodology to users' scrutiny, introduce possible improvements, and move towards its consolidation as part of the INE's official statistical output.

It is constructed from the INE Quality of Life Indicators, which offer a broad overview of the quality of life in Spain. To compile the MQLI, a set of 55 indicators grouped into nine dimensions covering different aspects of quality of life is selected.

The results are presented by autonomous community, as well as broken down by sex, nationality and level of education, allowing differences in quality of life to be analysed from various perspectives.
