  • 1) Intergenerational mobility means the difference between the highest educational level of a person and the highest educational level of their parents, so it will be upwards when the level of the person is higher that the one of their parents, downwards when it is lower and there would not be mobility when the levels coincide.
    'Highest educational level of their parents' means the highest level comparing the highest educational level of the father and the highest educational level of the mother of the interviewed person.
