- 1) These are persons with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33% and those considered equivalent according to Royal Legislative Decree 1/2013.
  2) Results for cells with a value below 5.0 (5,000 persons or households) should be interpreted with caution because they may be affected by large sampling errors.
  3) Public Social Benefits: These are economic benefits aimed at individuals and families, financed with public resources. They include benefits for disability, retirement, death and family support, LISMI subsidies, supplementary benefits, assistance pensions and lump-sum payments.
  4) 'Not recorded': this category consists of pensioners who have been granted a permanent disability pension and who are not registered in the State Database of Persons with Disabilities.
  5) The 'Other' deficiency group includes persons with expressive, indeterminate or unknown disabilities and, since 2011, also persons registered with the Social Security General Treasury as affiliates for whom the type of disability is not available. Therefore, the data from 2011 are not statistically comparable with those of previous years.
  6) In 2022, the classification of benefits according to their contributory nature was modified retroactively, in accordance with the typology used by the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).
  7) The results for 2021-2023 are compiled using the disability-type classification employed in the State Database of Persons with Disabilities (BEPD) prior to the implementation of ICD-10.
