O Índice sintético de fecundidade (n.º de filhos
por mulher), no período 1995-2014, evoluiu nos
dois países em sentidos inversos: tendencialmente
decrescente em Portugal (1,41 em 1995; 1,23 em
2014) e tendencialmente crescente em Espanha
(1,16 em 1995; 1,32 em 2014).

El Índice Sintético de Fecundidad (n.º de hijos por
mujer), en el periodo 1995-2014, evolucionó en
los dos países en sentido inverso: la tendencia es
decreciente en Portugal (1,41 en 1995; 1,23 en
2014) y creciente en España (1,16 en 1995; 1,32
en 2014).
NUMBER OF CHILDREN PER WOMAN
The synthetic fertility index (number of children
per woman), in the period 1995-2014, has evolved
in both countries in opposite directions: with a
declining trend in Portugal (1.41 in 1995, 1.23 in
2014) and an upward trend in Spain (1.16 in 1995,
1.32 in 2014).
