The statistics on residential variations are elaborated by the INE by using the information relative to new entries and the deletion of old entries in the municipal registers of inhabitants, arising due to changes of residence. Annual migratory movements, both domestic, among the different municipalities in Spain, and foreign, among municipalities from Spain and abroad, are obtained in this way.
