Seeking work and a better quality of life
In Spain, there are 2.16 million household in where there is at least one person residing who was born abroad, according to the National Immigrant Survey (NIS), 2007. This survey studies the demographic and social characteristics of those persons born abroad, their migratory itineraries, work and residential history, family relations and relations with their country of origin and with the Spanish society. Among the reasons why they decide to come to Spain, worth noting is a greater quality of life and the search for better employment.
