1.3.1. Unemployment rate

Description of indicator

It is the ratio between the unemployed people and the active population. The indicator is based on data from the Economically Active Population Survey (EPA). But since the EPA only provides a limited level of breakdown, at most provincial level, to obtain this information at city level, greater city or FUA level, it has been necessary to make estimates for both variables. See estimation method

The estimation method has changed during 2015 and the series has been replaced.

All variables under the heading of Labour Market are residence based, not workplace based.

Available series: 2010-2022.

Graphs and tables

For sub-municipal areas, it is possible to access tables in INEbase with all indicators. For Cities, Greater cities and Functional Urban Areas, it is possible whether to access a table in INEbase with all indicators and periods, or to visualize the indicator in the graph. In this case, when positioning on each bar, the data and the year referred to are shown.
