Definition

Indicator of trends in the percentage of mountain area covered by vegetation.

Calculation method

The mountain area is determined from the digital land model 1:25,000 IGN according to the UNEP-WCMC criteria described in Kapos et al. 2000. Green coverage is determined from the Spanish Forest Map, which identifies the following land occupation groups that have been taken into account for this indicator: - Forest = Tree + Rale Tree - Grassland / Shrubland = Dispersed Tree + Disbursed Tree - Cropland = Crops
