Definition
It describes the relationship between the rate of land consumption, understood as the growth of urbanization or artificialization of the soil, and the rate of population growth, determined from the demographic variation, in the period considered.
Calculation method

The result of dividing the percentage of artificial surface growth according to the CORINE Land Cover project between the percentage of population growth according to data from the municipal population register (INE), for the period considered. Last data: period 2000-2018. Data obtained from the Urban Information System (MITMA).
