Average proportion of the built-up area of cities that is dedicated to open spaces with respect to the total built-up area.

Calculation method

\[SACUP=\frac{STEP+STDC}{STAC}\cdot 100\]

where STEP is the total area of public open space, STDC is the total area for streets and STAC is the total built-up area.

Results are provided for municipalities with 20,000 inhabitants or more, provinces and autonomous communities and cities.

This indicator has been developed through the joint collaboration of the IGN and the INE. Results are offered for municipalities with 20,000 inhabitants or more, provinces and autonomous communities and cities.

            1. Geographic Reference Information on Populations.
            2. Information System on Land Occupation in Spain (SIOSE).
            3. Municipal boundary lines.
            4. Postal approximations.
