Observations

The income used in the calculation of this indicator corresponds to the year prior to the survey: the number of units of consumption of a household is calculated using the modified OECD scale, which assigns a weight of 1 to the first person aged 14 or over, a weight of 0.5 to the rest of persons aged 14 or over and a weight of 0.3 to persons under 14 years of age. The imputed rent applies to households that do not pay a full rent because they own or because they occupy a rented house at a price lower than the market price or free of charge in order to equate the rents with those who do. The value charged is the equivalent of the rent that would be paid on the market for a housing similar to the occupied one, minus any rent actually paid. This variable also includes the rent charged on the housing when it is provided by the company in which a household member works. The interest of loans requested for the purchase of the main housing is also deducted from the total household income.
