Definition
The Statistics on Public Finance and Spending in Culture (official annual statistics) provides information on annual public expenditure on culture, in the recognized obligations phase, carried out by the autonomous (regional) administration, as well as its breakdown by economic nature and destination of expenditure. The budgetary programmes of the cultural field studied by the autonomous communities and cities are considered both by the competent councils in culture and by other units that manage it from their budgets. The information is collected in a coordinated manner from the Ministry of Culture and Sport (MCUD). The expenditure on heritage reflects the liquidated in historical and artistic heritage (such as historical monuments, museums, archaeological sites, etc.) archives and libraries, in accordance with the UNESCO questionnaire.
Calculation method

It is used as a source the Statistics on Public Finance and Spending in Culture, considering the public expenditure liquidated made in Heritage, archives and libraries by the autonomous administration, consolidating the expenditure, eliminating the double counting derived from internal transfers between departments and dependent entities. Due to the differences in budgetary classification used in each community and autonomous city, the primary data are subjected to a process of homogenization that can be consulted in greater detail in the methodology of the statistical operation.
