Main results
- In October, 231,209 properties were registered in the property registers, 37.7% more than in the same month the previous year.
- The number of registered property sales and purchases increased by 51.3% compared with October 2023.
The number of property transfers recorded in the property registers (from previously executed public deeds) in October was 231,209, which was 37.7% more than in the same month in 2023.
As regards registered property sales, the number of transfers was 130,575, an annual increase of 47.9%.

87.7% of registered sales in October were urban properties and 12.3% were rural properties. In the case of urban properties, 60.6% were house purchases and sales.
In October, the number of sales of rural properties increased by 36.8% in terms of the annual rate and that of urban properties rose by 49.6%. Within the latter, housing sales recorded an annual increase of 51.3%.
92.4% of the homes transferred by sale in October were unrestricted and 7.6% were social housing.
In annual terms, the number of homes transferred by sale increased by 50.6% and the number of social housing dwellings by 60.2%.
23.4% of the homes transferred by sale and purchase in October were new and 76.6% were used.
The number of new home transactions increased by 83.4% compared with October 2023 and the number of used ones by 43.6%.
Principado de Asturias (79.3%), Cantabria (65.8%) and País Vasco (54.1%) recorded the highest annual rates of variation in the total amount of transferred residential properties in October.
In turn, Comunidad Foral de Navarra (12.6%), Castilla y León (20.1%) and Extremadura (23.8%) recorded the lowest annual rates.
Regarding registered home sales and purchases, the Autonomous Communities with the largest increases were La Rioja (88.2%), Cantabria (81.3%) and Principado de Asturias (69.8%).
In turn, Comunidad Foral de Navarra (13.9%), Región de Murcia (28.5%) and Extremadura (35.8%) recorded the smallest decreases.

The Statistics on Transfer of Property Rights provides information on the number of rights over real estate transferred during the reference month, on a national level, by provinces and Autonomous Communities.
The information on transfers of property rights is obtained from the information available in the Land Registers throughout Spain, by virtue of a collaboration agreement signed in 2004 between the two institutions.
