It is a chained Laspeyres-type index. The calculation formula is: \[_{dic(t-1)} I^{mt}_{A,p} = \sum_{i,p} {_{dic(t-1)}}} I^{mt}_{i,p}times {_{dic(t-1)} W_{i,p}}] where \(_{dic(t-1)} I^{mt}_{i,p}} is the index, referring to December of year t-1, of the functional aggregation \(i) in the geographical aggregation \(p), and \( _{dic(t-1)} W_{i,p}} \) is the weight (in per cent), referring to December of year t-1, of the functional aggregation \(i) in the geographical aggregation \(p).
