Metadata Sub-indicator 2.4.1.6. Proportion of agricultural land area that has achieved an acceptable or desirable level of farm output value per hectarea
Goal 2. End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
Target 2.4. By 2030, ensure sustainable food production systems and implement resilient agricultural practices that increase productivity and production, that help maintain ecosystems, that strengthen capacity for adaptation to climate change, extreme weather, drought, flooding and other disasters and that progressively improve land and soil quality.
Indicator 2.4.1. Proportion of agricultural area under productive and sustainable agriculture
Sub-indicator 2.4.1.6. Proportion of agricultural land area that has achieved an acceptable or desirable level of farm output value per hectarea
Total production in euro per hectare
The indicator is obtained from the microdata of the National Agricultural Accounting Network by dividing the aggregate SE131 (Total Production) by the useful agricultural area (SE025). Those farms with a null denominator (SE025=0 ha) are excluded from the calculation.
The RECAN sample is then divided into three groups, according to agricultural, livestock or mixed orientation, and the 90th percentile of the population for the indicator is obtained in each case.
Then the distance of each farm to the 90th percentile of its group is established and the three classes are established (red if <1/3 of the 90th percentile, yellow if >=1/3 and <2/3 of the 90th percentile, green if >=2/3 of the 90th percentile).
Finally, the hectares corresponding to the farms in each class are added up and the percentage of area in the green and yellow classes is found.
