Up to now the periodicity was five years, but it has changed to six years. The reference value of this indicator is 1, which is taken when parity is absolute. The degree of disparity is greater the further the value of the indicator is removed from 1 and reflects an unfavourable or favorable situation of the population group of the numerator with respect to the population group of the denominator as it takes a value less than or greater than 1 respectively. When interpreting this indicator it should be taken into account that it is not symmetrical around 1.
