• WMS spatial data visualisation services

  • The Web Map Service (WMS) is a standard defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), which allows the dynamic publication of spatially referenced data maps drawn from geographic information. This international standard defines a map as a representation of geographic information in the form of a digital image file. The WMS also supports the possibility of specifying whether the submitted images have some transparency by allowing the overlay of layers from different map servers of other agencies or local layers.
