This implements the 2024-2026 Triennial Action Plan, in accordance with Law 40/2015 of RJSP (Legal Regime of the Public Sector) for the year 2026. The INE undertakes to work towards achieving the objectives of this Action Plan, to periodically assess the degree of compliance with it and to take the appropriate measures to implement its fulfilment.

The INE announces the call for the 2025 National Statistics Award. All institutions, organisations and public or private foundations that are particularly related to statistics may nominate candidates. Entries can be made from 6 December 2025 to 5 March 2026 (both inclusive).
First Quarter 2026. The number of people in employment decreased by 170,300 compared with the previous quarter to 22,293,000. In seasonally adjusted terms, the quarterly variation rate was 0.43%. Employment has increased by 527,600 in the last 12 months.

March 2026. Provisional data. The annual rate of the General Retail Trade Index at constant prices stood at 4.1% in the seasonal and calendar adjusted series. The monthly variation in retail sales at constant prices was 1.2% after seasonal and calendar adjustment. Employment in retail trade increased by 0.9% in annual rate.
Year 2025. In 2025, 44.3% of young people aged between 26 and 34 were living with their parents. This was more common among men (50.8%) than among women (37.5%). 47.3% of young people aged 26 to 34 living with their parents cited the main reason for doing so as being that they could not afford to buy or rent a home. 13.0% said they were saving to buy or rent.
