Description
This indicator is calculated as the ratio between the revenue from the service provided in the survey's reference year and the total water volume metered and distributed to all users. A distinction is made between the unit cost of water supply and that of public sanitation (sewerage and treatment). The numerator of this indicator includes both the invoiced and collected amount (excluding VAT) for household water consumption and the corresponding amount for economic sector (industry, services, livestock) and municipal consumption. The unit of measure for this indicator is euros per cubir meter (¤/m³).
Therefore, this indicator can be interpreted as an average unit cost of the payments made by users for services related to the integrated water cycle. However, it does not represent an applicable price or tariff for these services.
